How to Exit an Elevator?

How to Exit an Elevator?
Exiting an elevator is a simple process, but following these steps can ensure a smooth and polite exit. Please educate your customers and public on such Elevator Etiquettes as one of your CSR activities.

  • Stay Aware:

As the elevator approaches your desired floor, prepare to exit by moving closer to the doors if space allows, without invading others’ personal space. While exiting, watch out the elevator car cabin to landing floor level to avoid a trip hazard.

  • Check the floor number:

Confirm that the elevator has reached the correct floor by looking at the display panel inside the elevator or the signage outside upon the doors opening.

  • Wait for others:

If you’re standing behind other people who are also getting off at the same floor, wait patiently for them to exit first. If the elevator is crowded, those nearest to the door should exit first.

  • Say “Excuse Me” if needed:

If you need to move past someone to exit, do so gently and politely say “Excuse me” to signal your intention to leave the elevator.

  • Exit promptly:

Once the way is clear, exit the elevator smoothly and promptly to avoid holding up the doors and delaying the elevator for others.

  • Move Away from the doors:

Immediately after exiting, step aside or continue moving away from the elevator. This prevents blocking others who may be exiting after you or waiting to enter the elevator.

Remember, the key to exiting an elevator smoothly and safely involves a mix of awareness, courtesy, and prompt action.

Have a nice day!
