Community Guidelines

Dear SEEP members,

Welcome to the Vertical Transportation (VT) Community for elevators and escalator professionals! To maintain a positive, informative, and professional environment, we ask all members to adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Professional Conduct
– Be Respectful: Treat all members with respect and courtesy. Avoid personal attacks, harassment, and inappropriate language.
– Constructive Feedback: Provide constructive feedback and engage in discussions that contribute positively to the VT Community.

2. Quality Content
– Share Relevant Information: Post content that is relevant to elevators, escalators, and the vertical transportation industry. This can include industry news, innovations, best practices, safety tips, and professional experiences.
– Accurate Information: Ensure that the information you share is accurate and reliable. Avoid spreading rumors or unverified information.

3. Privacy and Confidentiality
– Respect Privacy: Do not share personal information or confidential details about projects, clients, or colleagues without proper consent.
– Anonymize Sensitive Data: When discussing case studies or incidents, ensure that sensitive information is anonymized.

4. Professionalism in Discourse
– Stay on Topic: Keep discussions focused on professional topics related to elevators and escalators.
– Avoid Controversial Topics: Refrain from discussing politics, religion, or other divisive topics that do not pertain to the industry. Such posts/replies will be taken down and strict action will be taken against the violators.

5. Safety and Compliance
– Promote Safety: Share and promote best safety practices and compliance with industry regulations. Safety should always be a top priority.
– Report Hazards: If you become aware of safety hazards or violations, report them to your organization management or the appropriate authorities rather just posting here. You may post such hazards here (without details), for the educational and awareness purpose only.

6. Intellectual Property
– Respect Intellectual Property: Do not share content that violates intellectual property rights. Give proper credit to original sources when sharing articles, images, or other media.

7. Networking and Collaboration
– Support Each Other: Use the platform to support fellow professionals, share job opportunities, and foster collaboration within the industry.
– Ask for Help: Don’t hesitate to ask for advice or assistance. This is a community for learning and growth. If you have any questions or concerns or experiencing issues in the VT Community, please don’t hesistate to contact us directly.

8. Moderation and Compliance
– Follow Platform Rules: Adhere to the rules and guidelines of the VT Community platform being used.
– Accept Moderation: Respect the decisions of moderators and administrators. If you have concerns about moderation, address them privately with the moderators.

9. Promotional Content
– Limit Self-Promotion: While sharing your work is encouraged, avoid excessive self-promotion or spamming. Ensure that promotional content is relevant and valuable to the community and posted in the related categories as indicated within the VT Community Forum.

10. Reporting Violations
– Report Misconduct: If you encounter behavior that violates these guidelines, report it to the group moderators by clicking the report icon provided with each post/reply. Help us maintain a positive and professional environment.
