Self introduction

Hi everyone,

I’m Sumilal, a structural drafting professional based in Kochi, India. I started my career as a Junior Engineer (Drafting) in an elevator manufacturing company, where I also managed a fabrication unit. Later, I transitioned to a Structural Drafting Engineer role in a naval and marine engineering firm, focusing on structural engineering and transportation systems.

Currently, I work as a freelance consultant, specializing in technical drawings and finite element analysis (FEM) for elevators, marine structures, and general structural engineering. Recently, I collaborated with G Tech Lifts, Kerala, to optimize steel usage in elevator structures without compromising quality, utilizing FEM for material efficiency. I truly enjoy working with them, as they embrace modern technology to enhance product quality and material optimization.

I’m excited to connect with professionals here, exchange insights, and explore opportunities beyond borders in structural engineering and vertical transportation. Looking forward to learning from and collaborating with this community!
