✅The below basic safe work procedure is only for the trained and authorized elevator professionals only.
𝑬𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒑𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒂𝒔𝒌 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒕 𝒂𝒅𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒔.
✔Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, helmet, and safety shoes.
✔To avoid any confusion, always coordinate with the building authorities before starting such activities or confirm with the control room (if any) that the lift is out of service.
✔Please the safety barricade around the bottom landing door to restrict the unauthroized access. And place the “Elevator Under Maintenance” or “Work in Progress” signage at the main floor elevator door / entrance to aware the passengers.
✔Before beginning, ensure the elevator is de-energized, tagged, and locked out.
✔Inspect the pit area for potential hazards such as water, debris, or live electrical components.
✔Switch ON the pit light and always use a secure ladder and maintain three points of contact while descending. Carry a flashlight to ensure visibility in low-light conditions.
✔Never work alone; a trained colleague should monitor your activity. Safety is paramount—follow local regulations and your company safety guidelines to avoid accidents and ensure a smooth workflow.
Follow almost the same safety protocol in the reverse sequence when work is completed.
Always keep 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓, while performing any activities.
